Our gut is the seat of our immunity and also our mood and emotions. There is a lot of research pointing to digestive issues underlying many conditions such as irritable bowel, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, chemical and food sensitivities, auto-immune conditions such as Multiple Schlerosis and Parkinson’s Disease, autism, schizophrenia and mood disorders. Anyone with chronic or acute (or recovering from) illness or mood disorders would be wise to see a health practitioner to assist them in attending to their gut health, reducing chemicals in their food and environment, embracing an organic diet, cutting out sugar and in some cases gluten or grains, and considering nutritional support.
I’ve personally embraced the concept of ‘food as medicine’, have modified my diet significantly, eat wholly organic produce, and have reaped the benefits.
Because it aligns with these philosophies and my personal ethics I recently became an advocate for a new on-line marketplace selling all organic products, emphasising truth in labelling, non gmo, fair-trade, ethically sourced products at consistent prices. I was introduced to this by Petrea King of the Quest for Life Centre, with whom I have had a long and happy association.
It’s free to sign up as a customer, and a proportion of any monies spent will go to the Quest for Life Foundation.
